Review: Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

Hello lovelies.
If you've seen any of my beauty related posts you'll know this is my Holy Grail foundation, I don't use anything else. In saying that I'll try to provide an un-biased review.

Packaging:
I really love this packaging! It's practical, made of glass so it's not going to accidentally squeeze everywhere in your bag. The colouring's cute, I love having different colours amongst my products. Super easy pump application and it seems to hold a lot, or at least it lasts me a while. When you're running low you can't cut it open for more, but you can still open the top and get a lot extra out. Also it stands up, which is a plus depending on how you store your makeup.

A half pump
Unblended
Mostly Blended

Consistency & Coverage:
The consistency I find lovely, it's not gooey or sticky. It's really smooth without being watery. It feels super light on my skin. I find I can use barely any and get a really light, natural finish, but it's fine for when I want a heavier look as well. The coverage it gives is good and really evens out my skin tone. The finish is quite dewy, not to the point of looking sweaty, and would be good for dryer skin. I would say I have combination skin, I don't think this foundation would be that great for oily skin types.

Foundation only (and primer)
End of the day

Does it do its job?
"Our first foundation that visibly reawakens and illuminates skin with a radiant glow and flawless, natural-looking finish. Instant anti-fatigue effect. With peptides and a Vitamin Moisturising Complex."

I think it really does provide a 'radiant glow' as it suggests. It may be because I look awful first thing in the morning but after applying I feel I look much more awake. So ticks for living up to its name. It also looks and feel quite moisturising. It provides good coverage and feels good so I would definitely say it does its job well. As a bonus it smells nice, like a sweet smelling sunscreen. I'm going to give it a 9/10 just incase I find one better.

I hope this review is somewhat helpful if you haven't tried the foundation. I think I reviewed all the important bits. If you want to know anything else leave me a question.

Thanks for reading!

Blogging Blues

I know I've been quite absent from my blog recently half by accident, and I'm really sorry about that. I've been crazy busy lately and I've not wanted to post any pointless posts just to have some content.

This blog comes second to a lot of things and as much as I want to keep it updated I won't let it become a chore. BUT.. I do have some posts planned for the future, some product reviews, maybe a 'what's in my bag,' so don't loose faith, there will be more good stuff to come.

I apologise again for this boring post and I'll leave you with some pictures from my life the past few weeks.

I love visiting these sorts of cafe's with quirky vibes
My go to hair

And assorted moments I wanted to photograph :)

Leave me your stories of blog motivation, or inspiration, or what you love about blogging, and watch this space, it will get more interesting.

A Different Way To Blog

Hello lovely people of the internet, I hope everyone's doing fine.
I'm sure many of you are familiar with the website Tumblr. I know it's also a blogging platform, but I feel it's so dissimilar to Blogger. I associate Tumblr more with images, while Blogger's much more about sharing in writing. I've been using Tumblr forever but when I knew I wanted to create my own content it wasn't the right place for it.

Obviously I'm still on Tumblr all the time, I find it brilliant for inspiration, connecting with people and learning a whole lot. Recently I sort of changed up the style and theme of my blog and I'm pretty happy with it now. I've included a heap of screen caps from my blog recently.

If anyone reading has a Tumblr at the moment and you like what you see, feel free to follow me here (yes this is a shameless plug for myself). If you do, send me a message on there that you came from this post and I'll definitely follow you as well.

Also please do let me know your opinions of Tumblr, or any other websites you use to blog, connect, or for inspiration.

My Travels

I thought instead of making a long post simply stating all the things I did in Thailand I'd put my holiday into a vlog style video. I couldn't fit everything in as it's hard to condense two weeks into a short video but I hope this shows a bit of how wonderful my experience in Thailand was. P.S. I apologise for my shoddy videoing and editing skills, it's my first attempt :)

Thailand Haul

Shopping in the markets in Thailand is better than one would assume. If you know what you're doing you'll never pay too much, and if you don't then you're not paying a fortune anyway. If you go in searching for any thing that's a real brand you'll be quickly disappointed but if you're willing to pay not much for clothes that're fine quality wise it's perfect. Most of these items were so cheap initially I didn't need to barter with the price. Here's a look at some of the goodies I picked up on my trip.

Boy London t-shirt: $3 AUD

Chanel t-shirt: $3 AUD

'Super Junior' t-shirt: $3 AUD

Chanel no.5 tank: $3 AUD

Feather tank: $3 AUD

Peplum singlet: $3 AUD

Collared shirt: $6 AUD

Clock: $3 AUD

Beats headphones: $12 AUD
(my last fake pair lasted approx. 1 year)

Stuffed dog: $4.50 AUD
(handmade from this orphanage)

Rings: $5 AUD each

Naked 3 palette: $26 AUD
(The authenticity of this palette is questionable
but the makeup quality passes the test)

'Inferno' Dan Brown novel: $8 AUD
(I can't go away without buying books)

Aside from the markets I also went to an actual shopping centre and visited H&M so these items you can get at home.

Pinky/peachy scalloped flats: $20 AUD

Black ankle boots: $40 AUD
(link)

From previous travel experience I know things like clothing bought cheaply will actually last, whereas electronics and the like are prone to not quite live up to what the salesperson is selling. However, I know what I'm getting when I'm buying this stuff, and really, who can resist a bargain.

Let me know your thoughts as always, and any travel shopping tips you might have.

Mini beauty/indulgence haul

This is my first haul and I thought I'd just show a couple of beauty bits I picked up recently plus some other cute items.

I've been looking for a new bronzer because I'm super pale and they're always to dark for me so I fell in love when I tried Mac's Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Dark. It work's perfectly for me as a bronzer and contour.

I couldn't help myself whilst in Mac so I also picked up this Mineralize Skinfinish highlighter in Soft and Gentle.

For the lips I got this Revlon Colourburst lip crayon because I've heard only good things about it. I chose a matte balm in the shade 205 Elusive for something I can wear day to day.

From Peter Alexander I couldn't resist my favourite Glasshouse Candle. If you're a lover of strong sweet smells I would recommend this one. Also their glass containers are great to reuse when the wax is all gone.

My first ever purchase from Lush (insane, I know) was this Phoenix Rising bath bomb. It has a spicy chai smell about it that I though was perfect for winter. I also got the Dragon's Egg bath bomb but if you saw my last post you'll see I've already used it (and I will be getting again).

So those are just a few bits I've picked up recently and hopefully I'll be able to post more hauls soon.

Brunchin' and Bathin'

I love a super relaxing day like today. I went to this cute little cafe in suburbs of Adelaide, and A+ would recommend, though I didn't take a photo of my pancakes. My bath later was luxurious, I soaked in my Dragon's Egg bath bomb from Lush which smelled incredible and felt super moisturising. I hope I get many more days like this during winter.
